Way mga respeto! Ipa vigilante na sila oi!

A FEW ROTTEN EGGS won’t deter Armed Forces Chief of Staff General Hermogenes Esperon Jr. from returning to the University of the Philippines.
That much Esperon made clear yesterday as he vowed to return to the hotbed of student activism in the country, shrugging off Friday’s incident in which UP students pelted him with eggs and mud.
The controversial military chief had another reason for being in high spirits.
In “one of the happiest moments in my life,” Esperon yesterday took his oath as a four-star general before President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo in Malacañang.
“I’m not angry anymore,” he told reporters after the Palace ceremony. “They pelted me with bad eggs. Maybe those who threw them were bad eggs, too.”
The general said he still held UP in “high regard” since he obtained his master’s degree in Business Administration there and three of his children graduated from the university.
“I will return to UP. I enjoyed UP,” he said.
Esperon said he was also an activist during his student days, and that he actually joined the First Quarter Storm’s violent student protests in early 1971.
“I have been through activism myself. I am a First Quarter Stormer so I can understand this. But, certainly, activism should not be equated with forgetting correct decorum,” Esperon said.
