UML Diagramming on creating websites, is it necessary?

Do you still have to create UML Diagrams in creating websites like E-Commerce or Business Web Applications? Is it really necessary? According to some, it minimizes trials and errors on coding daw. True? Or, is just a waste of time?

UML is a powerfull tool during design phase.
ang discipline sa software engineering kay all about building the system right.
Planu before icode.. dli lang basta2x code..

dli mo matter if WEB App or desktop App or mobile app cya, a system is a system.

example:
if web application cya,
-you can represent your modules as objects sa imo sequence diagram
-you can represent your system flow using activity diagram.
-you can represents your module and actors using object diagrams and so on.

its not a waste of time, since kng na design nmo tarung ang imng system then yano nalang kaayu ang pagcode, dli na ka mag ilis-ilis.

Plus maintainable, flexible and reusable imo code kng gidesign tarung..

90% chance spaghetti imo code basta wla ka ni agi jd ug tarung design.

let me guess, student pa ka nuh or bago lang nag start sa work? or maybe a freelancer?
maybe you'll learn the importance of design once maka start naka ug work ug dagku na projects with strict software engineering policies.

SOftware engineering is like any other engineering, PLAN FIRST before implement.

kung ang mga civil engineer kay mag tukod dayun ug 50 stories na building wlay planu2x or ang planu nila kay during implementation na, maau ba na cya? kung naay maencounter na sayup nya naabot na cla sa 30th floor, ayaw ko ingna bungkagon balik ang building?

Nice information, Bro. Question lang, applicable pud ba ang UML designing kung let's say maggamit ba ron ug open source web systems like joomla, drupal, wordpress, magento, etc? Is there a need pa ba gyud nga mag-design (UML)?

I'm a freelancer, by the way, and I can't still see the importance of designing UML on website development especially if it's just like a CMS or Blog or E-Commerce type of website. Maybe you can help me, or maybe some of us here, see its importance. Hehe!

help kaau ang UML jud labi na kung dagko nga applications.. maminimize ang bugs pd. pero kung ginagmay ra nga apps ayaw nlng pg UML oe kay time consuming pd ni..

mura di nka ka UML kung mugamit kag CMS like drupal or joomla kay naa nmn design/architecture daan, or unles mgdevelop kay module or extensions sa drupal or joomla ky pwede nimo himoan og low-level design..

If you have a small software project like school projects (snake game and the like; phone directories and the like ), dili na kailangan ang UML. It's a waste of time actually. Flowchart may suffice actually by dividing it into modules.

However, if you use UML on such simple projects in the design phase of the System Development Life Cycle, den bugs will appear only 2.78104% of your code. (based on experience and research)
