The proposal to abolish PCGG should be abrogated. PCGG was created to recover the ill-gotten wealth of then President Marcos. We all know that this is a very controversial issue since it involves the Marcos family. We all know how powerful they are. Considering the play up of politics and the fact that Swiss banks made it harder for them to recover ill-gotten wealth, such is not an easy task.

The PCGG has tried for a number of times to put into auction some of the recovered Marcos wealth. Instead of abolishing it, we should ultimately pursue so that the victims during the Marcos dictatorship will be rightfully indemnified. The proposal of Sen. Pimentel to abolish PCGG is only because of the refusal of the officials to answer in committee inquiries which are up in the Supreme Court to decide.

the thing that should be abolish is that EO 1? that one being used by this PCGG commissioners? Making them look like untouchables.
