how to prepare my own web server

Please somebody help what i need to do because i want to create my own web server at home.What am I going to do first before installing and configuring my server.thanks guys

its actually easy.

all u need to have is a static public ip a domain name and XAMPP

XAMPP is a windows version of LAMP

just google it and download it and install then in a few minutes time walahh!!! u got webserver already.

XAMPP is good since ur not an expert yet.. u dont need to master linux since it runs in windows OS.

try it first then if ur having hard time with it then just post it here I AM GLAD TO HELP.

Thanks for replying i want to have IIS on my web server and I will install Windows 2000 Server.But what will I do first before I will configure my IIS or Windows 2000 server. Should I look first ISP provider?Where can i get DNS names or IP address for my web server pc here?Maybe I must know this so I can have an idea how to do?well guys thanks for your help.
