Sa unang Aboitiz cup it took them 2 weekends pero karon nganong 1 weekend ra man nga sobra ra man ilang mga gi pang accept nga teams. Pangwarta na man ni ila. Kinsay naka-ila ani nila.
Yeah right.. way klaro ang scheduling!! they need improvement! pangwarta? pila naman diay ang registration fee karon sa Aboitiz Cup? pang sponsor nalang mo!

Don Bosco nails U12 title; CIS sweeps Girls division
THE reigning Palarong Pambansa champion, Don Bosco College, continued its rampage in their age group as it pluck the 12-Under title in the 2nd Aboitiz National Football Festival at the Cebu City Sports Center late Saturday night.
DBC outlasted Pepito FC, 2-1, to snare its second straight title in the division after topping the Milo Olympics last week. The Bosconians actually scored all three goals yesterday, but one, John Daniel Caballero’s header, was an own goal. Jake Noel and Val Calvo, who struck from way deep, scored the other two goals.
DBC’s Miguel Caindec bagged the Most Valuable Player in the division.
Pepito got back in the Players 10 division, as it defeated DBC, 3-1, to take the title. Mark Joseph Aranguez got the MVP award for Pepito, which finished with a clean 5-0 slate in the elimination round.
As expected the Cebu International School also ruled the Girls 12 and 17-Under divisions, stamping its strength in girls football.
Second straight
CIS defeated PaBol A, 1-0, to take the 12-Under title, with MVP Janine Negrosa, while the older team, towed by MVP Monica Moraza, defeated Juanito TXO, 2-0,
It is also the second straight title for CIS U17 team as it also won the crown in Mizuno Cup last month.
On the other hand, the visiting Don Bosco Victorias edge out Paref Springdale, 1-0, for the Boys 14 title.
After sneaking past Joshua Cruz for the lone goal, Victorias tightened their defense, while goalkeeper Jose Carlo Lacson pulled two saves to preserve the score. For his efforts, Lacson got the MVP in the division.
Meanwhile, new entry University of San Carlos-Technological Center ruled the U17 division, defeating DB Victorias, 2-0. Cliff Bacolod got the MVP for USC-TC, which joined the U17 for the first time.
The Men’s Open, Women’s Open and 36-above divisions were still being played at press time last night.
In the Men’s Division, favorites Silliman University, Crazy Horse and Magone Fire Fox won their first two matches, while CIS and Hiroshi each won one and drew one.
Hiroshi wins midnight match for men’s title
HIROSHI Football Club finished the way it started in the Aboitiz National Football Festival at the Cebu City Sports Center—bag a title.
Deep into night, some 30 hours after its P6 team bag the first title, Hiroshi FC survived Silliman University, 2-0, via a shootout to take its first crown since winning the Aboitiz League last year.
Marion Cubelo bagged the MVP award for Hiroshi, whose other members are playing coach and team manager Harou Iwanaga, team captain Voltaire Montebon, Jan Michael Flroes, Rocky Garciano, Mark Hilay, Vince Dioneal, Ian Villanobs, Ace Mangohig, Jake and Julius Acre.
In the women’s division, San Roque FC finally bagged the title after winning the division over Queen City United, 2-1, via shootout. Former QCU player and San Roque keeper Iris Meca got the MVP award.
36-above
The Don Bosco Alumni Football Club A ruled the 36-above division, with Dem Sanchez earning the MVP.
No score was provided as the weary organizers failed to record the score.
The two-day football fiesta was one of the biggest tournaments in the country, with participants from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
“We were able to plot the schedule for the players, but we forgot about the organizers, that we have to stay from start to finish,” said Cebu Football Association president Jonathan Maximo, who left the CCSC at 1:30 in the morning.
Options
The last match was played at almost midnight, but the organizers still had to settle a few matters and to assess the tournaments.
“One of the options for next year is to split the games into two weekends, so it won’t drag on too long,” Maximo said.
This year 216 teams joined the tournament, some 36 more than the original target 180.
“There were a lot of late entries, especially from the out of town teams and it was tough to turn them down,” said Maximo.
