MANILA, Philippines - "Goin’ Bulilit" mainstay Dagul was ecstatic after emerging victorious in the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections.
Dagul was proclaimed kagawad of Barangay San Jose in Rodriguez, Rizal after receiving the highest number of votes.
During the campaign period, Dagul, the father of 4 who dubbed himself “The Little Man With a Big Heart,” promised to put up daycare centers and deploy more medical personnel in poor areas if elected.
Following his victory, the comedian said he will exert all efforts to deliver on his promises.
Born Romy Pastrana in 1958, Dagul was discovered by singer-host Randy Santiago in the late 90s.
Santiago named him Dagul (a colloquial term for big), an ironic contrast to his estimated 2’ height.
