Mmm... Para nako, as someone who is engaged, it's still something you wouldn't expect for good things to come because there's always a balance to everything.

Sometimes, happy ka sometimes, sad ka.... Mao rasad kato pag uyab pa mo. But this time, you have to let go of your pride, selfishness and avoid demanding from your partner.

It's not wrong to feel jealous or maybe there's an attitude you can't tolerate about that person and thus you want to put a stop to it. Just remember that your partner is just like you, he also have his own freewill. Give him the life he wants to live, give him the space that's rightfully for him but it doesn't mean you need to leave him. Just stay around, and remember to make him feel special.

Loving someone is not setting expectations, but it's loving that person as who they truly are.

So, para nako, engangement is the phase where you ready yourself for the possibilities when you move to the next phase which is marriage. Marriage promises no happy ending. But it sure promises a life you will share with the person you love.
