What does poverty has to do with this? If they can afford to push grade school to Grade 8 using the DepEd funding, well that's good. I don't know why some people will play the "poverty" card.

angay ni e push through mostly ang graduate nato diri sa highschool although not all, but a huge majority immature ang lacking ra kaayo sa current education system nato. aron nig tongX2 sa college ready na gyud ang young adult. compara karon nga mag sigi ra og ka hagbung nya mu graduate og college in 6 years, mas gasto noon nang college.

Dugay na unta ni e-push ni former DepEd Sec. Angeles aron pagtuman sa Bologna Accord (please Google search this to read and understand more) but was prevented by the former Pres. Arroyo for its implementation last year. In the entire world ONLY the Philippines and Myanmar has the shortest basic education of 10 years while the rest have more. Singapore have 13 years basic education while Japan have 12 years. DepEd is planning about this to be competitive with other countries as Europe will not entertain our professionals in the near future because we lacked the basic education. In Japan for example, to take up engineering courses, you have to undergo 3 years vocational then after which you can proceed with the 3 year regular engineering course. Their vocational subjects are equivalent to the subjects that we have in our first three years in college.

Mura gyud ug dugay ang 12 years basic education much more expensive kaayo ang pag-eskuela pero this should be shouldered by the government to have free education for basic education. Pero daghan man gihapon nga adto gyud ganahan mopa eskuela sa private schools unya mang reklamo nga pun-an ug pila ka years kay gasto na kaayo.
