Default Need Advice on Notebook Purchase

    Hello istoryans

    I need
-something in the 10~12" range (basically portable)
-long battery life (6 hrs or more for normal use)
-able to play the following games at decent settings (strategy games kasagaran)
    - starcraft II
    - dota
    - civ 5
    - tropico 3
    -durable
-looks are a plus but not a priority, i would prefer something more comfortable
-20k~50k budget, as long as it offers the best value for my money

What are my options here in Cebu?
I need it by this weekend.

    Thanks!

    - im not sure about the Intel HD Graphics 128MB
    - not sure about Cebu availability

    - not too confident that the proc+vcard combo is enough for light rts gaming. can someone confirm? i know a number of you people have similarly spec'ed MSIs.
    - not sure about Cebu availabiity

Also, i only base on what i have canvassed, im afraid i might miss some models.

If you want light gaming, you might want to find the "Nvidia" or "ATI" graphics part. I'd prefer "ATI" for gaming...the HD4200 is barely enough to run MMO games and some offline strategy games. Look it up.

for the form factor im looking at (10~12"), the only model i know which carries a decent dedicated graphics card is the alienware m11x, which is a bit north of my upper limit.

are there other similarly spec'ed notebooks as the m11x from lesser known manufacturers?

invidia ion 2 for the Eee PC 1215N does score about twice as much as the Mobility Radeon 4225. im not sure how that translates in terms of actual fps gained.

it does say it can play WoW 26fps@1,366x768. based on this data, is starcraft II at low settings achievable?

50k for a netbook? if u wud want a notebook for gaming then i suggest u buy sumthing much bigger than a 10-12" screen...and with ur budget i think u cud afford a highend 14.1" inch laptop/notebook with much more punch in the graphics dept...but yes it wud defeat ur purpose of looking for sumthing light and portable...but then again with the games u posted up there i think u shud consider getting a laptop..

    just my 2 cents

the m11x is perfectly capable of decent framerates bisan eleven incher ra siya. im looking for something in that class, and i realize i might have to pay a premium for those features. although as i said mas ubos pa man gud sa m11x ang ako budget so im hoping naa alternative.
