Irregardless of band name, when you buy engine oil especially diesel, look for its tbn total base number, diesel has 40 tbn,in big diesel engines we monitor its tbn value, as the engines produces carbon and ash residue, metal deposits due to wearing, sludges formation, sulfur content, water condensation etc.... Its value decreases, in small engines you change oil but in big engines we sweetened it, add new oil with the old to raise the value, most impurities are in your oil filter so you have to change oil/filter, never mix engine oil with different brands coz they have different additives and dyes used. It wil form sludge especialy cold temperature. Me,basta engine oil shell gyud.as a responsible car owner never just dump you used oil elswhere,

For diesel look for CJ-4, CI-4 Plus, CI-4, CH-4, CG-4, CF-2, and CF. All others are obsolete.
If budget is not an issue to you, then go for the premium Fully synthetic oils. You wont go wrong with all of the brands mentioned be it Motul, Royal purple, Shell, Mobil.
Basta sa Shell and Mobil kanang fully synthetic ang naka butang not synthetic kay kung synthetic lang or synthetic blend 20% ra ang synthetic content (ester oil) the rest is mineral oil na. Kung fully synthetic thats 80-90% synthetic. Kanang Motul and Royal Purple fully synthetic gyud na ilaha wa na silay synthetic blends.
Use mineral oil and do a HARD Breakin for the first 5K km and still continue to use mineral up to 10K km. This will ensure proper fitting of piston rings, and proper seating of valves. After 10K km you can shift to fully synthetic.
