Katya Zialcita is one of the top female photographers working today, not only in Cebu, but in the entire Philippines. She worked for top furniture designer Kenneth Cobonpue and trained under Conrado Velasco of Gap. She has worked and collaborated with other top photographers as well, such as Lita Puyat, Jay Javier and Wig Tysman. In addition to Kenneth Cobonpue, Katya has worked for Ann Pamintuan, Rose Lovegrove and Fendi. Her works have appeared on the covers of Zee and International Design Yearbook (2002 & 2004), Mega Magazine, Metro. Fork & Fork (Phaidon Publication) and Time Magazine. She is now the managing director of Black + White Studio.
On September 25 & 26, Katya will give a two-day workshop on Digital Studio Photography. On September 25, the workshop will begin at 10am with a two-hour session on Studio Equipment, choosing the right equipment and choosing the right equipment to suit your needs. In the afternoon, Katya will teach three-point lighting and then have the attendees have hands-on practical use and interaction. Day Two will be about high-key and low-key studio lighting, then a session with graphic designer and studio co-founder, Genesis Raña, on Digital Workflow: from camera to computer to print, then practical use and interaction.
