Because of the recent reports of the Dengue victims, many are asking if there is already an out break? Reports are almost around the country informing every family about this deadly disease.

It is good to know that they the (authorities) has ordered a massive fogging and cleanup operations throughout the city which is really a must. They have also instructed the hospitals and health centers to extend immediate medical attention to persons believed to be afflicted with dengue.

In as early as yesterday, there has been reports that other affected barangays are Tatalon, Pasong Tamo, Pasong Putik, Old Balara, Gulod, Sauyo, Manresa, Old Balara and UP Campus.

The city health department recorded 47 deaths and listed 1,110 cases from January to August 24 this year.

Such an alarming case...what action have you taken to this issue?

I think this is due to weather. These past few days, heavy rains are pouring in. Mosquitoes that are dengue- carriers might be finding more ways to transmit such disease.

Nevertheless, the DOH should address the outbreak of dengue apart from setting up dengue express lanes to prevent it from more afflictions. Local government units should also do their respective parts to resolve the growing concern on dengue outbreak.

More so, the DepEd and CHED should launch an information drive and take preventive actions in combating dengue aside from fumigating schools that might be infected from dengue. Ample supply of blood should be made available for the victims through blood donations.

Because of the numerous cases of Dengue victims, the Red Cross has strengthen its campaign for the blood donation, this is to save the increasing number of the said illkness.

It has been reported that Dengue oubreak is in the area and has anoounced a state of calamity in the area of Rizal towns where in 384 cases of dengue in the year to August, with 24 of them dying of the mosquito-borne disease.

There were also reports that Dengue is almost (some places) in the Metro Manila Area.

DOH is currently addressing the needs of the residents in the CAMANAVA area, Quezon City and other nearby areas since these areas might really be needing help in case of dengue outbreak in these areas.

I've recently received this email that papaya leaves can cure dengue. I forwarded that message to all listed in my address book so that they would know such information.

Dengue victims continue to rise this particular season, maybe civic organizations can launch blood donation campaign to help the dengue victims in the affected areas. This would also call for an increase of awareness to the public.

The CAMANAVA area also have taken an extra effort in stopping the spread of Dengue. They are working on this together with the concerned local government officials at their place.

As part in spreading information on how to avoid this deseas, Mayor Echeverri has made a program which will help in dessiminating different information on what are the things to be done to prevent the mosquito-borne illness.
