I have a friend that is marrying a Filipino lady. I would like to get them a traditional Filipino wedding gift or something that might remind her of home. Any suggestions?
Thank you!

Usually, the traditional Filipino wedding gift here in the Philippines is to give chamber pot or arinola, but it is not practice nowadays and many are not familiar with it anymore but wayback in time, it was a tradition since our older folks believed that it will bring good luck to the newlywed. The contemporary tradition and the most common gift ideas is to give items which are needed for the couple as they start their own family like appliances, utensils, etc
Yes, I read about the arinola online but could only find VERY expensive antiques. So, I guess there aren't any real traditional gifts. Is there anything that would remind her of home that you can think of? If not, I'll just go with the appliances, etc. Thank you for your response.
you can buy them a painting of a provincial farm with a farmer plowing the ricefileds with carabao and of course with nipa huts.
anything nga magamit sa panimalay kay starting to build a family baya na sila.
Depende sad sa Kaslon. basin andam na sila ana...think of something useful nga wala sila
palayok.... ^_^ magamit nila for cooking or as storage for some kitchen ingredients..
