Ah, sola. I have to comment on this since I consider this as one of the best series I’ve seen way back 2007… 2007, ah 2007, so many good anime during that time…

Anyway, only a few seems to have seen this, so I’m hoping this would get the attention it deserves. It’s under the drama & romance category, but from what I could remember, it was a mix of everything. (BTW, there was no movie for sola, only a TV series and a 2-episode OVA).

The initial reason I tried to watch sola was only because Noto, Mamiko was doing the main character’s voice. I could remember the first few episodes were nothing out of the ordinary. It just seemed like the basic harem and ‘sudden girl-friend appearance’ type of anime. The art style was just average and the animation work seemed to be rushed.

But what stood out in this anime are the characters. Sure, they were pretty generic characters that you see in other titles – a mysterious cheerful girl, a childhood friend, and a silent girl with short white hair ala Nagato, Yuki, but I found them interesting.. especially Sae, the timid and delusional megane, (EDIT: I just found out that Koshimizu, Ami did Sae's voice! no wonder this character left an impression on me) and Mayuko and Takeshi, the ‘eternal loli’ - lolicon couple.

The story was interesting too. Just to give everyone a rough idea: it started out like EF- a tale of memories; then it felt like Index, with the main character being chased around by some guy; then the last few parts reminded me of Air TV.

I think every important detail was covered properly, but there were a few details that I would like to be explained, like Matsuri and Aono's powers, and what happened to Mayuko and Takeshi afterwards?

to sum it up, this is a good title. It doesn't strictly fit to one particular category, which is I think a good thing. Not too heavy on drama, not too heavy on romance, and a deep but easily understandable story.

yeah..but even if we wish he and matsuri will be together..he is just a creation..a phantom..hehe..so meaningless ghap kung magkadayun cla..pero may unta ingato..ahahah

I never thought that he was just a *******. The unpredictability of the story makes this title worth watching.

yep. mas nice if naay season 2. then ang story, focused na nilang Mayuko and Takeshi. interesado ko sa duha.

it can be a story after all that happened, or it can be a story about what Mayuko and Takeshi went through before they met Matsuri. I'm also curious on how takeshi spent her earlier years with Mayuko after Mayuko became a yaka.

Im also curious why Aono was the 'sacrifice' for the yaka. How did matsuri become a yaka? there are still a lot of details that I would like to know. I've scanned through the manga, but there wasn't really anything that answers these questions.

that is a possibility. But I also remember Matsuri saying that a yaka is a something like a personification of the sorrow and pain that someone on the verge of death has. And about Mayuko, was it Matsuri that turned her into a yaka? or another yaka?

the incident?where bot she and her family was murdured?its was supose to be her b-day..and the boy brought a stuf toy..then he saw her..thot she is alive and was hapy..she showed him..that she is now a yaka..heheh
