What happened to Mango Square is symptomatic of the ills in city governance (mind you, this happens not only in Cebu City, but in almost every other LGU in the country):
It shows:
a) Lack of zoning on land use (schools, watering holes, night spots, residential areas, etc. chaotically mixed together)
b) Lack of implementation of building codes and occupancy ordinancies (does the city ever inspects buildings and houses being built and occupied, or are the officials just interested in the fees and charges?)
c) Disregard of the safety of the customers (overcrowding)
d) Disregard of health and sanitation ordinances (the volume of customers is clearly above the toilet, sewage and drainage capacities)
d) Disregard of traffic situation (lack of parking areas)
d) Greed on the part of the mall owner (renting every available space without provision for walkways and fire safety measures)
^^nice info there..
i don't frequent Mango Square, but i have to agree that it is too crowded and too small to accommodate many tenants..as if every sq.mtr is occupied with booths, tables, chairs, etc. and well, the patrons..
i do hope it re-opens with some improvements that will benefit the public as well as future tenants..
been there... and nalipay ko na nasirado na...
tig-adto man ko diha. but for me, maayu kung kisarado ni ang mango square kaay perting hugawa diha uy. unya ang mga sakyanan diha pataka lang og parking. sometimes gubot og hu-ot diha.
sakto rapud nga gisira..im sure naay grounds nganong gisira.imposible man pud ug sirad-an nga walay rason..payts..
Maayo ni aron sampulan ang mga buildings nga way mga klaro. Mura man ug merkado ang Mango Square.
