ang maka answer naay reward..
not for the reward:
way back during the spanish colonials, some spanish soldiers chanced upon some native cebuanos melting animal fat and wax to make candles. the spanish soldiers asked the natives what they were doing in spanish, thinking they understood their language. the natives answered: Sebo!
(the spaniards asked them what the name of the place was)
thus the spaniards began calling the island Cebu.
naa na. sa kato'ng coffee table book about the visayan islands. i quite forgot the year and title. sorry.![]()
unsa diay ang una...Cebu or Sugbo?
mostly ingon ani kay attributed to misunderstanding ra gyud na dayon...some spanish newcomer asking a native what the name of the place is..and the native telling them what they are doing at the time the question was posed...
kind of too lame.
or else daghan kaayo lugar nga ginganlan ug "unsa?"
