Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia and one of her staunchest supporters, Mayor Maria Luisa Loot of Daanbantayan had a falling apart.
This after Garcia scolded Loot for her town's failure to take part in last weekend's Pasigarbo sa Sugbo and then later asking for financial assistance from the governor for their town festival on August 30.
Garcia admitted that she scolded Loot, who went to her office last Monday.
Loot also admitted to being hurt by the words of the governor and vowed not to go to Capitol ever again. She also said that her sentiments are shared by other mayors.
The governor said that she was so mad with the mayor because even the smaller towns of Pilar and Tudela in the island of Camotes joined the event last weekend in Mandaue City despite having to cross the sea to get to the venue.
Garcia said that Daantayan has no reason not to join, most especially that it was last year's champion.
