    Halu Ms. Miyay.

    Pwede pa-elaborate further.
    ...minimum investment amount ?
...interest rates, etc... (esp for the 5 years maturity) ?
...what are the other fees to be paid aron maka-invest ta ani ?
...and most importantly, how to get them in Cebu ?

    Please post it here.
    Salamat.

ang modetermine sa interest rates kay ang ROP (republic of the philippines) based sa market bids.
pinaka safe ni siya na investment sa ato country for small investors. guaranteed by ROP.

    2008 - 5 yrs 9.00% p.a. (gross)
    2009 - 3 yrs 5.25% p.a. (gross)

quarterly ang interest payment. with 20% withholding tax.

OT: paet, mam na diay ko ron

    Halu MS Miyay,

Ga-research ko gamay ani karon lang.

Between 5% - 9% diay ang interest ani per annum?
    I see....
    ...less 20% tax is about 4% - 7.2% net interest p.a.

Please ake note, current inflation rate is at 4.3% (for year 2010 as of July 2010) (see BSP website)
So all in all, your investment would actually grow around 0% to 3% in value per year. (5%-9% less 20% less inflation rate).

Ingon ani ba ang sakto nga pagtan-aw ani nga investment?

It is good ... but not so good.
Anyway, its a lot better than not investing at all.
At least, kani is fully secured by the government jud - lupig pang PDIC!

Please correct my line of thinking.
    Thanks.

beats time deposits. low risk, low returns. imo, it's not so bad to have an ROP paper in your portfolio.

you might also ask yourself why investments like these sell like hotcakes in the market......
