I would like to know how many of you purchase toys from online sites in the US? or even Ebay?

Some friends of mine have been pooling and shipping items from the US to CEBU with our online purchases from ebay/bbts/hasbrotoyshop/amazon throug balikbayan boxes... and it worked out pretty well... I might extend this shipping service to those who are interested.

But first, I would like to know if there are people here who do buy from the US and are interested...

I stay away from USA sellers as much as possible since the shipping is a bit steep compared to Asian countries. But if there's a cheaper alternative for the shipping and of course the guarantee that the items will arrive safely here in Cebu then I won't mind buying from US sources then.

thanks sa comments... im coming up with a FAQ... but to answer your query, here are some Q&A...

I’m a MISB collector, how can you guarantee that item/packaging remains in mint condition?
I’ve already informed the people packing the boxes about collector’s sensitivity to creases, tears, dents, etc. So items are encased in protective packaging material to reduce the likelihood of damage. Nevertheless, I won’t be held liable for any damage to the item since it is unavoidable during shipping. At times, the items/packaging already have wear and tear upon arrival at my US address. In the past few months that I have been actively doing this, items arrive in conditions comparable to what we see in local retail/specialty stores.

The item that arrived is not the same as the one I ordered or is missing certain pieces. Can you do something about it?
I won’t be held liable for incorrect orders/missing/broken pieces. Please make sure you read the fine print when purchasing online. Although, I have the people in the US check items that arrive against the shopping lists you provide, there may still be tiny details which they may not notice. This is the risk on purchasing items online. Furthermore, make sure you ask your seller to pack the items carefully.

Make sure to setup your account to ship the item to the United States with the zip code 90061. If you did it correctly, you should see something like this "Price + Shipping to 90061" when you do searches.

i've ordered on ebay.ph multiple times. by experience, sige la'g ka-langay sa post office (main branch) that i have to go there personally to get the package (tracking # in hand). last year's bad experience was i've ordered my ez devastator sa taiwan on dec. 5, 2009. i got the claim stub by march 2010. pagtan-aw nako sa package, it was received on their office on dec. 15, 2009. nauwau na lang ko sa seller telling him about this worst experience. last worst experience was i ordered one gundam kit on greattoysonline (i used their Php80 shipping fee). exactly 1 week has passed, wa pa ko'y nadawat nga claim stub. i went there and it was there sitting with some stacks of boxes waiting to be delivered (it was received on their office 3 days after it was shipped).

kung maka-order mo on US, be sure to get G.I. JOE pursuit of cobra toyline since wala ni gibaligya ngari due to weird issues like mahal ang shipping, item is too expensive, etc. my sources say it's cheap on US (around $4-$6 per piece). daghan gyud mupalitay ani if you sell it.

on the items only found in US, ganahan sad ko mu-order. some gundam kits are not sold in any online stores in japan. it's so rare it's found in US. some gundam stores in US will only ship on US and/or Canada only.
