naka basa ko ani yesterday. They definitely need release a patch to optimize AA for ATi cards.
Pero blizzard has always been known to have games that run on even the most modest systems. that's always been their trademark. You can even see that sa fps charts. labi na kay rts ra ni siya so even at 20fps it is acceptable. The only thing interesting about the article was how ATI cards cant do AA.
It will be interesting once crysis 2 comes out though.
I wish the final release is faster than the beta(at least a bit faster). I'm getting 30-40fps average on my HD4850 and dips below 30 on big clashes. Running it at 1680x1050 all max. Galaway ko gatan-aw sa 60fps :P.
gipatas-an nila system requirements? abi nako DX9 ra ni sya na game....
ATI would definitely have a driver update to fix the subpar performance.

Unfortunately, ATI’s current and (we’re guessing) upcoming 10.7 drivers won’t have the ability to force anti aliasing within the game itself. According to our conversations with them, it seems like implementing forced AA through the Catalyst Control Center is being investigated but it has not actually been implemented as of yet. There goes ATI and nVidia and their driver teams. From the way we understand it, NVIDIA has been extremely vocal when it comes to their support for this game and the work they have put into their drivers reflects exactly this. To begin with, they have laid the groundwork necessary for the Blizzard team to implement stereoscopic 3D into the game engine via a patch shortly after release. 3D Vision (and we’re assuming 3D Vision Surround as well) could very well mean a radically different gameplay experience for those of you who are willing to invest in this type of setup.
In addition to the future addition of 3D support, NVIDIA has also added the ability to force anti aliasing in StarCraft II through their control panel. When it is released, this will be one of the few late-coming DX9 games lacking support for an in-game anti-aliasing option so NVIDIA has gone forward with creating a driver profile for it. They will also have fully functioning SLI support on release date as well.
^^ If so, this is exactly the same as Batman: Arkham Asylum. Batman was designed to be optimized with Nvidia hardware. In the bencmarks, ATI and nvidia were neck and neck. But when AA was enabled, performance on ATI card just dropped. Starcraft might be using nvidia optimized engine.
Yes nvidia cards does seem to perform faster on starcraft, 2 than their respective ati counterparts.
It is weird why blizzard chose to stick with DX9 for starcraft 2. They could've at least went with DX10 or 10.1. Again, this might have to do with having their games work even with older hardware in order not to alienate anyone in the market. This makes me wonder how good it would've looked if the went with DX11 instead.
