:: situation ::
i edit audio files. after a few steps in editing i bounce
bounce - ex. after having eq'ed Track 1, i record it to Track 2. now i have the source and edited in my editor without having to render it.

:: problem ::
after having installed vmware, reaper doesnt record anymore also with vegas
but it records in fl studio - edison

:: additional info ::
i didnt change my settings in reaper after having installed vmware
i even changed all the settings in windows volume control to full
i have no problem listening to mp3s/audio n video and also listening in reaper
i didnt make a restore point bcoz i didnt think a problem like this would happen

having to format is not yet an option bcoz i have to external hard drive to store my files
help would really be appreciated
