any particular station, my Ainol HD PMP has a built in one but I get a lot of static
i used to use 107.7 which is higher than the highest frequency used by any fm station in cebu (nu 107.5) and also the highest my stereo can go but like you said there is still a lot of static. there are a lot of radio stations in cebu city in which the air is almost 'saturated'. try going far to the province and you will notice there is less static, there are only few stations that can broadcast so far away. any free frequencies in between each station still has some interference and static either from the nearest higher or lower frequency station, also another thing is even with a clear frequency, FM sound quality is not good and still nothing beats direct cable connection from your stereo to PMP. my suggestion would be, if possible (and safe), you can remove your car antenna, this will reduce the interference and static your stereo is picking outside and can focus on your FM transmitter.
i endured with this kind of setup for months until i discovered (through another online car forum) that my car stereo actually has 2 female rca ports hidden at the back and it also supports AUX-in even though the people back at the CASA denies this lol (maybe for warranty and accountability purposes since its not officially documented and supported). so i just bought a long RCA->Stereo cable adapter from ace hardware, went to Cebu Textar and have them open up the dashboard, pull out the "built-in" stereo, attach the cable, let it run through from the back of the stereo then under the glove compartment and then out into the passenger seat area. and put everything back all for just P200 labor and P100 tip to their mechanic. its now directly connected to my ipod and can connect to any cellphone, PMP, etc as long as its using the standard stereo jack. no more static and better audio quality.
@Korg17: I agree, My iphone/Ipod all go through direct connections via Ipod/Iphone Cable, but I dont have a jack for Line on my current stereo.
Well, just wanted to test the built in FM transmitter of the device, if not I will just have to look for another solution
Thanks for you suggestion and comment!
