help my dog has one bloodshot, bulging eye

hi guys, my dog (askal but very beautiful) started having a bulging right eye last week. We brought her to the vet. The vet said it was an infecti0n so he gave her a shot of antibiotics. But the swelling has n0t st0pped. A small tissue is bulging from the lower part of the eye. Late part of last week it started getting bloodshot. So we called the doctor and he prescribed some oral antibiotics and some drops. For now, we haven't seen any improvement.

By the way, my dog is 11years old. She is overweight na though kay she just loves to eat.

Does anybody know of an eye doctor for dogs?

is it the same as cherry eye? or basin sa iya lang jud ni edad. la pa sad ko kaencounter ani. pero try to google cherry eye if its the same.

yah, it looks like the cherry eye. but it started with bulging sa eye una gud. then usa pa nigawas ang cherry eye. and it's blood shot sad. mahadluk man mi mumassage kay bloodshot man gud. will that be ok ra to do?

i.try daw check sa lain vet sis.. mas maayo dali.on nin.u kai basin mu takod sa pikas eye or
it could go worse. Try daw og second opinion. And careful with antibiotics, kai too much of
it won't be therapeutic na pud for the dog. Naa uban vets mu ingon nga ok ra ipadayon ang
oral antibiotic even after 7th day. Later to find out from another vet nga bad sa health sa
dog if more than 7 days (base on my experience).

Any updates sa case sa mong dog??

We intended to bring her to our doctor today. but amo car naguba gud, monday pa gpaayo, supposedly karon makuha, but nagholiday pud ang isuzu karon. we're deciding to bring her to another doctor for second opinion tomorrow.

we didn't bring her to another doctor. her doctor gave her some shots to minimize the swelling to be able to operate. the doctor said it's protrusion of the third eyelid daw. but upto now, wala ghapon nagsubside ang swelling. ibalik cya sa doctor tomorrow, it's beginning to affect the other eye na sad.

update: we finally decided to bring her to another doctor. this doctor diagnosed it as glaucoma. she stopped the antibiotic medication which was given by the previous doctor. the antibiotic she said was too strong daw, it's only recommended for big healthy dogs, and my dog was weak and almost dying. she gave her drops called cosupt for the glaucoma and another drops to keep the exposed eye from drying. because of this, we were able to save my dogs other eye, which was swelling na sad. the other eye though, we werent able to save, but the medicine helped the swelling (which made my dogs eye bulge to about the size of a ping pong ball) become normal again. now my dog is much much better, and seems more abtik than before. it's like she even lost years to her age. she's also a bit smaller, making her walk a lot faster than before.
what happened to the seriously bulging eye? after days of using the medication, something dropped from my dogs eye because she rubbed it with her paw. it looked like contact lens that had a ring around it (kinda like those lenses with design). then that night, me and my sister found a little transparent ball on the towel where she lays. it looked like the fish's eye, but slightly bigger. she also accidentally hit that eye with the edge of the table and some blood spurted out. but now, she has gotten accustomed to having one eye na lang.
