My SATA HDD keeps on hanging when i try to copy or open a file.

Mga bro can someone help me with this, my Seagate Barracuda SATA HDD keeps on hanging up whenever mag-copy ko or mag open og file. How can i repair it without loosing all my important files especially lesson plans.................HELP PLS..................

make sure kung ang HDD ba jud ang problema bro. could be ang OS pud ra ba. but if not, its really the hdd. repairing hdd? wla ko alamag asa, duda nako mahal2 jud na ug fee, murag mkapalit ka ug new hdd cguro ang presyo pa repair. for now while it's still working, i think it's wise to backup your important files first.

try re-inserting cables and power connectors... if possible replace data cable or move to another sata/ide port.

if same gihapon, try to remove ur hdd and use it on another comp to backup imo data.

try this bro... sakto ni na troubleshooting suggestion ni werty...

try known good sata / ide cable (depending wat type of hard drive you have)
try known good power supply connector
try other sata / ide port sa mobo
try plugging it in as a secondary hard drive sa laing pc if the symptoms still persists then that would really be a hard drive issue
