arcanum of steamworks and magick obscura, tis the best pc-rpg there is but its old though.
Past 2 years, these where the good rpg games i played that i enjoyed much.
DragonAge - story is good. gameplay hmm... not so much. Story is addicting.
Fallout3 is fun, dont read gamefaqs or guide. it's too fun to play without the guide.
Oblivion - without the patches and mods, boring.
ME2 - err.. dont. boring. probably just me. basig ganahan ka.
also playing FFX and GodOfWar on PC. e...cough... cough... mulators

Oblivion seems to be the only recent legitimate RPG in terms of story, length, gameplay, overall appeal, etc.
Fallout 3 is also really good, but the story seems a bit too short.
ME2 has a great story, no doubt about that, but it suffers from limited areas, and awkward pause/unpause combat. The same goes for Dragon Age, and its gameplay is even worse.
But if I really want to play a really deep RPG in terms of longevity and character strength development, I'd have to go far back to Diablo 2 + Lord of Destruction. That game never seems to end in terms of buffing up your character, items, enemies, etc.
AC nindot..Seriously? AC? What? What? Seriously?Dragon Age
Assassin's Creed

What? Did we play the same game?ME2 has a great story, no doubt about that, but it suffers from limited areas, and awkward pause/unpause combat.
So you imply that ME2's gameplay was "bad" if Dragon Age's gameplay is "worse"? ME2 is arguably the best action RPG of it's type ... so bad compared to what? Dragon Age's gameplay is classic Bioware ala Baldur's Gate. Everyone who played Baldur's Gate loved it ... but yet it's "worse" than that. That seems like high praise to me.The same goes for Dragon Age, and its gameplay is even worse.
I'd argue that every modern game when you play just the main story ... is short ... including Oblivion. I've spent almost 100 hours on Fallout 3 ... not counting time spent on DLC. I would not consider the game short ... and I haven't even done Broken Steel yet.Fallout 3 is also really good, but the story seems a bit too short.
I wouldn't consider any game in the Diablo series as "deep". It certainly has "deep" lootwhoring ... but it isn't "deep" RPG ... as in Role Playing Game. If you want a recent "deep" RPG, then Dragon Age is it. If you want modern "deep" lootwhoring ... there is Torchlight. But if I really want to play a really deep RPG in terms of longevity and character strength development, I'd have to go far back to Diablo 2 + Lord of Destruction.
