TRUE! Terri wasn't only murdered, she was -- in effect -- tortured!he didnt only deprive terri of food and water..but also the love and attention...that her family can give.!.
This is what the culture of death leads to. People are no longer treated as human beings deserving respect. Instead, their worth is judged on how "useful" they are. This is the kind of thinking that the Pope was fighting against.
She had a Heart Attack due to her Boulimia & that cost her to lost so much pottasium that somehow she was in a Coma/Vegetable for 8-15 years. Some Folks can tolerate serving their wives/husbands in this state but others dont. Her situation is not special coz theres a lot of families who also have that kind of situation; However the Media made a stir about it.
I htink her case was special in the sense that she was NOT brain dead. She was NOT on any extraordinary means of life support. There as also considerable doubt about what she would have really wished since her husband's word could not be trusted (he was estranged and had another woman alrerady).
So in a legal sense, there were some factors that made her case different from other coma cases where US jurisprudence had already made deicisions.
