Default ABS-CBN'S GO KADA GO: Ang Barkada mo tuwing Sabado

Let's Go is a teenage sitcom on ABS-CBN set in a college dormitory and can be seen every Saturday, at 4 pm. The show was inspired from the Korean youth sitcom"Nonstop" after the show's director, Edgar Mortiz, caught his son, one of the mainstays of the show, watching it on TV. He became interested that he planned to do a show similar to Nonstop.

Get to know your new barkada... check out http://gokadashowinfo.blogspot.com/

There’s Norman (Blumark Roces), the Bisoy boy next door who’s chums with chick magnet Dennis (Timmy Boy Sta. Maria). Dennis can relate to girls, that’s why he’s close to Junniper (Eda Cabilan), the shy “promdi” girl who’s as nice as Charrie (Chari Pineda), the sweetilicous babe of the group.

Charie can easily tame resident bullie Badjie (Badjie Mortiz), who is feared by everyone, that even star athlete Bob (Joem Bascon) wouldn’t go near him. The jock who’s not so lucky with the girls, hangs out with the shrewd and “alaskador” Zap (Kontin Roque) who’s attracted the attention of showbiz fanatic Maffi (Janelle Quintana).

Maffi’s obsession with all things showbiz extends her friendship with “artistahin” fashionista Alex (Cathy Gonzaga). The certified rich gal in the group though is best friends with Trish (Jana Pablo) the calorie-counting fashion-obsessed middle class girl. Mike (Mikel Campos) loves to count too, well his money that is, up to the last centavo. His many secrets can be compared to the very mysterious Bangs (Valerie Garcia) who’s discreetly into Norman.

Four reasons why Guys should check out Let's Go..

    http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/3...0/IMG_3324.jpg

Trish, Alex, Junnie and Bangs...! Aaaah Pretty young co-eds~!

This Week on Let's Go! (August 12, 2006)

Its Harana Saturday in Let's GoKada!

The girls are all "kilig" when a rock star visited their dorm to serenade Bangs! This was Bangs suitor back in highschool. He came back to pursue Bangs again and everyone thinks that they look good together, all except Norman. He seems to be pissed about Bangs having a suitor. Chari is confused about Norman’s behavior, but decided to keep quiet about this.

The boys’ laundry got delayed and Zap has run out of underwear. This made him sneak into one of his roommates closets and "borrow" one. So when everyone engaged in a game of spin the bottle where the "it" has to strip a piece of clothing, Zap suddenly remembered about his borrowed underwear! He now finds a way to be able to play without getting caught!

Default My Report Card ng Let's Go

[font=calibri] Like Let's Go 'creator' Edgar Mortiz and his sons, I too had the good fortune of enjoying MBC's NONSTOP and NEW NONSTOP on which ABS-CBN's Let's Go is based from... so far, I'm not at all dissatisfied with Let's Go. It is a worthy Pinoy adaptation on the  Korean youth-oriented sitcom... but to be more objective, the show does have its 'unrealistic' flaws and sadly doesn't a true flavor, unlike the original...

    (-)The Only Minus

The only minus that I see so far in this Pinoy sitcom is the casting and portrayal of some of the main characters. Please don't take me wrong, the acting of the young talents are superb and quirky. Edgar Mortiz is a fine, perhaps the best, director for comedy and drama. So there are for me just one minor minus...

(-)  The characters look too good to be true... I mean, the barkada are generally all good-looking and glammed up. Perhaps this was done on purpose to make the show eye-candy (basically I don't really mind because I so adore all the Let's Go girls) but come on... let's be real and relatable please

Like for example, the character Bangs, who is depicted as a rocker. Okay, hiding the eyes is a great touch and I'm so in love with this character ably portrayed by Valerie Garcia but in my humble college experience, rocker girls usually wear jeans and converse loafers... Bangs in her hot outfits and high heels seems to give more the impression of a rocker's chick.. a hot groupie.

Now for the pluses which are lots..

(+) The pace of action and dialogue is quick and never boring
(+) The situations funny and quirky
(+) The stories are full of heart, bagay talaga sa youth
(+) Just the right mix of comedy, and drama
(+) The Endings are often upbeat and leave one wanting for more

So if you want to have a light-hearted, gut-filling afternoon every Saturday, so Let's Go na Tayo~!

    Default Episode 8/19/2006 ~ LQ

    Episode: LQ ~ August 19, 2006

Last Saturday's episode of Let's Go featured the following storylines

    1) Norman's and Charrie's First LQ based on Charrie's first magazine interview.
    2) Mike's quarrel with a pulubi
    3) Zap's attempts to tipping right.

The show was entertaning. It was funny how the argument between Norman and Charrie almost became a heated debate between the sexes by the other young denizens of the dormitory. Yet somehow it lacked some very important story points.

Like for example, in storyline 1 the Norman and Charrie LQ... Bangs was assigned to be the bridge to patch things up... eh di ba si Bangs may gusto kay Norman?

Sa storyline number 2, i think it would be more hilarious if Mike had to come up with ways to gain back his 5 pesos from the Pulubi na unaware... just to what lengths would the young man go through for the change. Then ultimately sana dapat meron matutunan na virtue si Mike.

Sa Storyline number 3 naman, dapat ipakita ang source ng paranoia ni Zap. Why should nga we tip? We heard the things that waiters and chefs do to the food especially to mean customers and bad tippers, dapat ipakita lang ang mga tame versions of such actions. Maybe rin dapat ipakita how Zap has become a bit paranoid and does his best to show that he tips.

Some ideas though that I thought would have made last weekend's episode better. Next weekend, Charrie and Norman will break up. Whatever the reason, I have no clue. Its not really something I'm anticipating for.. i think its too early for the show to get this serious... migh be a sign that the show wouldn't last.  Must had a not-so-satisfactory performance sa weekend ratings. Sayang naman po.

@khymm, I really like this show(especially because of the delightful eye candy of juniper, bangs, charrie, muffie and trish!) so I watch it every time I can.

I like it so much that I even posted a thread about this, before you!

I-merge ko lang itong thread mo khymm sa aking thread ha?
