please help me decide what to upgrade? i use my pc for gaming most of the time.

i have:
core2duo e8400
thermalright hr-01 plus cpu cooler
gigabyte ga p35 ds3l
radeon 5850
team xtreem 4gig ram
640gig caviar black
gigabyte odin 550w

option 1:
- sell my e8400 and thermalright hr-01 plus cpu cooler
- buy core2quad q9550 and xigmatek dark knight cpu cooler
- including sa halin sa old proc and cooler, maka dugang ko 6k for this setup

option 2:
- sell proc, cpu cooler, mobo, ram
- buy the following:

xigmated dark knight

msi p55 cd53 @ P7,050
MSI Global ? Computer, Laptop, Notebook, Desktop, Mainboard, Graphics and more

core i5 750 @ P9,700

team xtreem 4gig @ 5,500

maka gasto kog mga 9k sa option 2 apil na sa halin sa old parts



i have a few questions pud.
1. i understand ddr3 na ang ram aning core i5. wala ra ba problema sa mobo and ram ako gipili coz naa koy nabasahan di nu-on claro nga some old ram modules nga ddr3 maka guba daw sa core i5 something to do with the voltage, pls. enlighten me on this. 1.65v man ang naka indicate sa ram pero sa mobo ako gipili wala may gi indicate.

2. ok ra ba ang ddr3 1600 nya cas 8? dili rana maka hinay ang cas 8?

3. maayo ra ba ang ako choice for mobo?

4. in case i just go for the q9550 kay mas gamay man ako magasto, maayo ba gyapon performance ani in games nga dili ga take advantage ug quad considering nga 2.83ghz ra ang q9550 and ang ako current e8400 is 3ghz? muhinay ba ang games nako nga dili quad optimized?

I just got a Core i5 and an MSI P55 GD80. My old Q6600 with 8GB RAM was nowhere near it in performance. The Q9550 is a very good CPU pero socket 775 is dying, lisod na pangita motherboard and other parts (mahal pa jud ang DDR2).

Kato MSI P55 GD65 nalang bai nindot sad to.

my friendly advice is "dont upgrade" if your current hardware can still handle your needs. daghan na rumors about new CPUs from intel and AMD...so better wait for the next gen pc components...

its just a matter of time...months lang cguro, nana pud mga new upgrades....

by the way, nindot bya imo current specs boss whoopz

wait gamai nalang...kung mo upgrade man gani ka...go for Core i7 1366 nalang...ayaw nalang ug alang2x anang i5 or Q9550...para walai mahai & what ifs...performance-wise payter kaayo ang 6cores/12threads(or 4cores/8threads) & triple channel memory config sa i7...upgrade nalang daan karon sa imong power supply

Ako suggestion :

Pag Q9550 na lang since naa na man kay existing parts. I also agree sa statement ni jhnpl, no need to upgrade kung kaya pa sa imung PC ang imung mga needs....

On the other hand, mas lamang ang i5 compared sa Q9550 + the higher bandwidth sa rams. Mas dako sad imung magasto kay ilis man ka sa mga crucial parts. New proc, new mobo socket, new rams = more expenses...

Bati man ang CD53 sa MSI, IMO. Maypa nag GD65 na lang ka or katong mas higher na mobo sa GD65

agree pud ko with jhnpl. kaya ra kaayo sa imong current hardware ang mga latest games karon, besides gamay ra kaayo og difference ang e8400 & q9550 when it comes to games.
