Favorite World War II themed movie

I have always been fascinated by world history, but nothing compares to my fascination of World War II. The last great war that cost 60 million lives, and changed world history forever.

Any movies whose main backdrop was WW2 and is a favorite/must-see?
For me it would be:

- Saving Private Ryan (bloody and realistic, truly terrific movie making)
- Schindler's List
- Empire of the Sun
- The Pianist
- The Great Raid (Yeah I know, they could have made it better, but regardless, it was still good)
- Pearl Harbor (2001) (Again, most people slammed this movie as nothing more than 'a Japanese attack on a pathetic love triangle', but the attack itself on Pearl Harbor is breathtaking)

Any other recommendations from you guys would be great.

'Saving Ryan's Privates' and 'The Pianist' are definitely my favorites. I also enjoyed 'Enemy at the Gates'. That was one thrilling sharpshooting modern WWII piece of art.

If we talk bout classics, you can't go wrong with 'The Great Escape'.

Saving Private Ryan (very realistic IMHO)
Tuskigee Airmen (saw this on tv. story about an all-black fighter squadron, very nice pud ang story)
The Lost Battalion (saw this on tv too. very nice pud ang action + story, WWI diay ni)
The Band of Brothers (some episodes are boring)
Pearl Harbor
Thin Red Line
Empire of the Sun (no action pero i like the story)
The Pianist

ive seen Life Is Beautiful * (story about a jewish guy who is sent to a camp together with his german wife and son). dili man gyud ni action. more of a drama. maka hilak ra ni.

try pud Patton, nindot ang tank battles ani. **** (karaan na ni pero mao ra ning salidahan about WWII akong nakitan na daghan pud ug tanks ang gipa kita. seen this only once though kay oldschool na kaayo)

The Bridge Over the River Kwai ** (Story of American GIs captured by the Japanese who were forced to construct the bridge. and then they get rescued by a Lone Ranger)

The Great Tank Battles of WWII (4 part documentary about the importance of tanks during WWII)

Battlefield Detectives: The Battle of Stalidgrad (documentary pud about why Germany got defeated by the Soviets in these battle)

* Windtalkers (2002) - its about Two U.S. Marines in WWII who are assigned to protect Navajo Marines who use their native language as an unbreakable radio cypher. :mrgreen: namatay lang si Nicholas Cage. HMP!!!

* Life Is Beautiful - Won 3 Oscars. Another 52 wins & 26 nominations. One of the best movie that I have ever seen. And left a lasting impression.
