Default QuantumFilm set to replace silicon sensors

If you are into photography, you are probably familiar with CCD and CMOS based silicon sensors. Now, a new way of sensing light has been achieved with a Quantum Dot based material as an image sensor. Quantum dots are very small nanocrystalline semiconducotor particles that can have tunable absorption or emission spectra depending on its size. They are found in numerous applications in cell biology, lasers, quantum optics, and many more. Now, it appears that quantum dots are making its way the imaging industry.

Or simply just ask here. hehehe Anyway, I think this news is very very interesting especially for me. It is very promising because fabrication methods with their current proposal is already very well established.

Simplest way to imagine is with the modes of a vibrating string. Similar ra gyud ang concept. Anything you learned wave mechanics, easily applies in QM. hehe Neural Networks raman to amoa sa una.. hehehe! Quantum Neural Network, i think also belongs to quantum information. Cge ko attend ug Quantum Information and Computation conferences and talks nganhi. nah, dili gyud ko kasabot.. It's very very very abstract with so many equations here and there and so many mathematical operators I don't recognize. haha Bitaw, lisod gyud kau igrasp ang essence sa quantum mechanics at first. It took me a long time to do so but when you do, its amazing. haha

Anyway, sakto ka... Entangled photons from an emitting system is due to its confinement symmetry. For example, physicist nowadays produce entangle photon sources from a non-linear crystal. The confinement symmetry is already obvious from the periodic structure of a crystal lattice. With Quantum Dots, its much more trickier. Real quantum dots (real fabricated) lack symmetry which makes entanglement hard to observe from it.

Anyway, tanawa ni.. Quantum Optoelectronics Lab: PhD positions available! Naay PhD project akong prof nganhi , "Creating entanglement with quantum dots." I was going to work on it but unfortunately funding options didn't apply to non-Europeans.

OT: asa naka ron? wala ka ni-apply sa erasmus mundus masters?

Nindot nang quantum film..morag ma phase out na jud ang mga silicon film ron..mahimo nang history..hehe..

Ganahan kong makat.on og quantum neural networks..so far, quantum perceptron ra ni altaisky ako nasabtan..
good luck sa imo pa-gapply og PhD..
wala ko ni-apply og erasmus..naa ra sa pilipinas..sa up diliman ko ganahan mag MS pro morag sa USC ra jud ko ka masters kay under medication ko of a psychiatrist..XD

I'm not entirely sure what they used but Quanutm Dots are made of many different materials. Typical Quantums dots are CdSe, GaAs, and many more. Materials used depend on the emission or absorption wavelength you want.
