I practice that at home. Garbage segregation is good!

SPECIFIC VIOLATIONS (under Section 49 of the Republic Act No. 9003 , otherwise known as the "Philippine Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000,")
FINES PENALTIES
Paragraph 1. Littering, throwing, dumping of waste matters in public places, such as roads, sidewalks, canals, esteros or parks, and establishment, or causing or permitting the same: Payment in the amounts not less than Three hundred pesos (P300.000) but not more than One thousand pesos (P1,000.00) or Rendering of community service for not less than one (1) day to not more than fifteen (15) days to an LGU where such prohibited acts are committed or both
Para 2. Undertaking activities or operating, collecting or transporting equipment in violation of sanitation operation and other requirements or permits set forth in or established pursuant to the Act
Para 3. The open burning of solid waste: Payment in the amounts not less than Three hundred pesos (P300.000) but not more than One thousand pesos (P1,000.00) or Imprisonment of not less than one (1) day to not more than fifteen (15) days or both
Para 4. Causing or permitting the collection of non-segregated or unsorted waste:
yeah, ipatimbang ang lata and bottles, then mga old newspapers ipa timbang pud or itaga for other uses..
when I was in Cebu last year, i remember that Garbage collection is per "malata" or "di malata" (segregated) basis. I dunno if they still implement this system up to now...Originally Posted by iloveyou4ever
just like here in japan, garbage segregation is very much observed...subways, malls, or any establishments: A SETof garbage bins are visible..even in parks, people are encouraged to bring their garbage with them and dispose it at home...it's really effective! I haven't seen any piled up garbage here and people are really accustomed to this practice..

in cebu, though it's still being implemented. however, i don't believe Talisay's been doing an equally good job.

barangay luz ang pinaka-ngilngig nga solid waste management program, naka-generate sila millions gikan sa basura...
yeah!! our speaker mentioned about brgy luz and how it is successful...
