Default Why should I get the Nikon D90 instead of D5000?

A lot of same features... but what exactly made them different... (except for the price and the HD video feature.)

I've been thinking to buy a DSLR for the first time this year, but I would like to know, their difference... gusto ko og worth it akong money...

Ang D90 naay built-in motor, ang D5000 wala, meaning naay ky mga lens nga magamit nga walay motor that can do autofocus which will make your life much easier and will save you a couple of bucks.

Ang D5000 Diwa Awardee ang D90 ambot unsay award, but this model is the preferred one.

Si bro tonyray had the same dilemma so he bought both D5000 and D90, he ended up trying to sell his D5000 and keepping the D90.

    naa dire ang difference:
Nikon D5000 Review: 1. Introduction: Digital Photography Review

If you have no plans of using non AF-S lenses, D5000 will be fine and it is not bulky.
If you want the DOF button and the LCD on top for settings preview, get the D90.
If you want an LCD that can flip and rotate ug pwede mahipos, D5000 have it.
Kung ganahan ka ug paspas ang frames per seconds and shoot sports most of the time, get a better camera than these two.

Getting an slr or dslr would mean you need to use different lenses with it.
A prime lens with f/1.4 or f/1.8 is nice to have for low light (specially indoor) situations.

I was in your shoes (looking of a dslr) early this month and I decided for the D5000 instead of the D90 for I don't have any plans of getting non AF-S lenses and I want something compact and lightweight. A small camera bag can have 3 lenses covering 18-55, 55-200 focal length with the D5000 in it and of course a 35mm f/1.8 which is handy in low light situations (for shooting indoor events). Another factor that I considered is the sensor capability of the D5000 which according to specs are just similar to the D90 and D300. I have tried already the other features that the D90 have (top LCD, DOF, front dial) when I have a D70 and I can live without them with the D5000 for I was able to translate them using the function button.

Each one have different priorities based on type of subjects to photograph, you have to decide which one ang mas mo bagay sa imong style ug panginahanglan. Features like top display and multiple dials are there for fast external access but not all have used them and still comfortable with their camera.

Good luck, get one and start shooting. Regardless which camera you'll get, time is running for you to start recording some precious moments.

    The D90's built-in motor matters a lot.

    Thanks for Hayden and Vernie...

    naa lang ko'y question pod...
If you have no plans of using non AF-S lenses, D5000 will be fine and it is not bulky.
Unsa'y meaning sa non AF-S Lenses? di pa man gud ko kaau familiar with the lenses man gud... starting pako. hehehe

    medyo wa ko kasabot ani...
which will make your life much easier
    <-- sa D5000 ni cya or D90?!
lens nga magamit nga walay motor
Unsa tawag ana na mga lense?
and unsa nang motor sa lenses?! Mao ba ng ge tawag og Automatic lenses?

Ang D90 naay built-in motor, ang D5000 wala, meaning naay ky mga lens nga magamit nga walay motor that can do autofocus which will make your life much easier and will save you a couple of bucks.
So you mean, mas gamit pa ang D5000 sa mga wala'y motor na lense?! Can't you use non motor lenses sa D90?! I mean, I know, u said na naa'y built in motor, pero naa ba'y option that you can select a feature sa camera na pwde ka makagamit og autofocus without using the built in motor... correct me if I'm wrong. hehehe
