Arrow How to check your actuations/shutter count (The hassle-free way)

    Good day!

Would like to share a bit of information I got. As for some people who knew na, ACTUATION (as defined by Anthony H of Yahoo) is the releasing of the shutter. Each time the shutter opens and closes is an actuation. Actuations can measure how many times the shutter has been fired, as well as being used as a measure of estimated shutter life.

Other people would also call this as shutter count etc. I have heard couple of times already nga mu "expire" daw ang shutter mechanism sa camera if mu abot na sa "life-span" niya. But i have also encountered some databases of users (over the internet) nga naguba na ilang cam even before reaching the "life-span" of their cameras, ang uban sad buhi lang ghapon ang ilang cam bsan ni lapas na sa life span. So what does this mean? By chance lang jud nga maguba? xD

So question is how can you check the ACTUATION of a DSLR camera? For some nga wala pa nakahibaw, there are softwares like Opanda IExif (for NIKON), EOSInfo.exe(for Canon), Irfanview and etc. nga maka check sa actual actuations/shutter count sa cam.

I recently discovered these 2 sites nga maka check sad ug EXIF info apil na ang actuations. All you have to do is to upload a picture taken from your DSLR (not edited. kanang fresh from your cam jud. hehe). Just scroll down and look for the keyword nga "ShutterCount".

Dili ni mo-work sa Canon, bisan sa Opanda dili ko kita sa shuttercount. I use EOSInfo.exe to check my shuttercount.
