iPod mini problem

just bought one. any of you guys know how to detect an mp3 that won't work on the ipod before i transfer it from the pc to the ipod? i wasted a few hours with the ipod trying to fing songs that wouldn't play. i found around 50 of em, w/c means that i have to convert them to AAC which is really arduous. so please, if you can gimme a few tidbits it would really mean a lot tnx

I believe iTunes will automatically convert mp3s to AAC once you upload them to ur pod. ^_^

by "won't work", do you mean that the songs you uploaded appear on the Songs|Albums|Artists menu but won't play when selected? or they don't appear
on the menus at all? if it's the latter then your mp3's are lacking id3 tags.
try tagging your mp3s. the most important tags would be song title, artist and
album title. if you're tagging full albums, you might want to fill the track# tag with
the proper sequence. this way when you play the album and you're not on shuffle
mode, the songs would be played in the proper sequence.

itunes will not convert mp3s to aac unless you specifically tell it to. fyi.
