    Default Cardio Excercise: BEFORE or AFTER Weights?


    Guys, ive always thought that you do cardio exercise first, get all warmed up and do weights after.
    Pero i just read in an article from Men's Fitness (july '06 issue) na mag and they say that its actually much better to do the cardio LAST on your workout routine.
    You burn more fats and calories this way according to the mag. So they recommend to do cardio AFTER weights.

    What are your take on this guys?

    sa una i did cardio before weights then later on i did cardio after weights but now i'm separating my cardio and weights

    I was given a program in Fitness First that does the cardio workout first then weights after but when I tried Holiday Spa for a month, my program was different, it was weights first then cardio after. I'm confused... also.

    Hehe.. i kinda tried to compromise between the two and so far its working out very well for me. I used to do 20mins on the elliptical then 20mins of treadmill right after.. but what i do now is 20mins on the elliptical, just to get me all warmed up and sweating, then proceed to weights after which i go back to 20mins on the treadmill this time, mas lami ang feeling, mas sustainable compared to the first one where feeling nako stretched kaayo ko with the cardio.. now i feel like i can still add 10mins each on both the pre- and post- weights cardio.. i think i'll stick with this routine for now

    dude to end your confusion here's what you should do.

    if you work out in the morning, you should do your cardio first before lifting weights. this should be done without having breakfast first. the objective of this cardio workout is shedding those extra fats in your system. a more defined body is obtained.

    if you work out in the evening, you should do your cardio AFTER you lift weights. the reason is we have a slower metabolism during night time. as much as possible avoid eating loads of carbo after 6pm. if cardio exercises are done in the evening, the objective is more on endurance.

    yeah- that's what I do too- cardio first then weights afterwards. After an hour and a half to 2 hrs. in the gym I play tennis to finish off the workout routine. Feel so good specially if you win the game. hehehe
