@edwin: These old lenses give us a certain look that newer lenses can't (even with Photoshop), don't they? I have two Super Takumar (M42 mount) lenses - 28mm and 135mm both f/3.5. I have an incoming Helios 44-2 55mm f/2.0. I'm still undecided about MIR-24M or N 35mm f/2.0. I created a thread about MF lenses but since this one exists, it might be a good idea just to have one. Can I post future photos taken with MF lenses here?

i would say "with manual focus lenses, i make pictures... auto focus lenses, i take pictures"

thanks. i paraphrased it from a discussion i joined sometime ago
in real life practice, i dont use my manual focus lens to shoot my running kid or busy event... i used to do that when everything was manual during my high school days (you will loose a lot of moments if you do so). its rather impractical now when you have all the available fast AF lenses. thats why i coined it "take pictures"... a canon 24-105 f4Lis will take care of that as well as the canon 100-400Lis although these AF lenses are also capable of "making pictures"... the manual focus with the manual aperture ring lenses makes me frame differently since i dont have to rush things ... thats why i coined it "making pictures"

i will post a few of zuiko OM lenses shots soon... 24f2.8 zuiko OM, 50f1.4 zuiko OM, 75-150 f3.5-5.6 zuiko OM

This focal length translates to an almost "normal" lens on a crop.

thanks... my framing in the posted photos may not be the best, but it sure does make me go back to basics in framing before pressing the shutter

@zubano - i feel for you bai... i never dropped a lens in my entire shooting hobby, but i could just imagine how it feels when your hear the "thug" when something falls

@cmontoya - keep it comin sir... hopefully managhan ta mogamit balik ug karaan nga lens hehehe...
