Default The Philippines Postal Services - opens your mail?!?

My housemate received a Christmas Card from his sister the other week... AND YES A CHRISTMAS CARD sent about a month before Christmas! Well Anywayz, I was watching TV at the time so I was the one who got it from the mailman. Well to my surprise, the card was already opened. I didn't want to touch it thinking my housemate would blame me for opening his mails(Althouhg I know he won't) but hey... he needs the mail right?

Just curious of what happened I asked the mailman why the letter was opened, he gave me a ugly smirk and to me "Ambot ana sir". So unsatisfied with the answer but what can I do.

So When my friend arrived I immediately told him that there is a Greeting Card for him but it was already opened when I got it...anxiously waiting for his reply, he then said in a very calm manner "Mao gyud na cla... ako na btaw ingnan akong sister nga if you want to send money use Western Union kay dli ra gihapon mo abot ug naa sa card" pardon my french but WTF?!@?. THEY OPEN PEOPLES MAIL TO LOOK FOR VALUABLES INSIDE IS THIS TRUE based on my friends story, her sister sent her money through mail to surprise him... and what's the score? 1 out of 3 went through since the 3rd one was place inside a whole mess of pictures.

Well I was actually shock on what he said but still is trying to believe that what happened was just a coincidence. I still don't believe our postal service would do that... But I don't know...

Did you ever experience this before?

i'm not surprised because this is not new. and yes, they do open your mail, especially if it came from abroad. my family has had many instances that we received slightly torn envelopes.

that's why naay Western Union courier service or mga Pera Padala kay ang Philippine Postal Service cannot be trusted.

kabalo na sila anang carbon paper, sir. marunong kaayo sila. sometimes they'll put your letter sa refrigerator then the cold temperature will open the sticky seal sa envelope, then open na ang letter. after getting the dollars, they'll seal it again. simple.

medyo mahal-mahal jud ang western union tungod sa mga charges. kung gusto mo maka-save, ipa bank-to-bank na lang na inyong ipadala na money. i'm sure naay affiliate banks atong local banks diri and didto sa overseas.

sir, bisag pictures gani sulod sa envelope, usahay ilang tan-awon or kuhaon. kwarta pa kaha?
