how to use RAID function

if naa naka sulod sa raid setup select ra ka ug hd na imo i raid ug unsa ang raid na configuration imo gamiton

Raid 0 - stripping (naa performance increase kay ang file will be distributed across the hard drives na gi raid ang problem lang ani kay if 1 of the dhard drives fail la na guba na ang imo files)
raid 1 - mirror (naa fail safe kay ang mga hard drives na gi raid naa man copy sa file so if ma guba ang isa ka hard drive ma recover pa kay naa paman sa lain na drive)

Raid 0+1 same as raid 0 + mirror pero not like raid 5

JBOD - spanning simple ra la performance increase la sa fail safe ang iya gi buhat kay i connect ra ang mga hard drives involved so if ga raid ka ug 80G + 20G ma himo ug 100G

naa pa mga lain RAID Config aside ani nila pero mao ra ni ang ako na try unya karon rasad ko naka try ani na gamit ang bios. sa una kay gamit sa dynamic disk sa winxp. pero mas maayo jud ang raid sa hardware na side. heehheh

Raid 5 is the best of both worlds. a mininum of 3 HDs is required tho.
raid 0 is stipping, 1 is mirroring(one controller) or duplexing(2controllers) 5 is the best coz the data and parity is striped over the hard drives. so guba usa dagan ra ghapon.

raid 0 and 1 is the most popular and common kay built in mani kasagaran basta naa ka SATA controller sa imo Mobo.

raid 5 and other versions require usually an addon card.

dapat pareha ba jud ang size/speed(rpm) sa HDD nga gamiton?

there is no rule that says you cant use dissimilar drives pero better use similar drives, data is more important than hardware mao gastoan nalang jud if data reliability is important

ok ra na kung wala ang raid config nimo walay redundancy.. pero if naa kay redundancy.. better same specs kay if dili.. usik coz ang iya sundon ang specs sa "weakest" drive.
