    Default Mars early this morning

Just sharing an image of the planet Mars, photographed by my friend John Nassr, taken using his newly assembled 16" Newtonian Reflector, at his observatory in Baguio City.

Easy to see both the northern and souther polar ice caps, and the dark splotch just below the north polar cap is Acidalia Planitia and Chrise Planitia (where Viking 1 and Pathfinder landed). The dark splotch emanating from the south pole are parts of Aurorae Sinus, Margaritifer Sinus, and Sinus Meridiani.

Eh? Your motorcycle is perhaps more expensive than a telescope that can do this.

There is no life (similar to Earth) on Mars. This is precisely why mere visual observation is not enough to judge if a nearby planet has life or not. From space, even the earth seems devoid of life.

Bad grammar has no place in scientific inquiry.
