Default Your Opinion of the BIBLE

the Bible, as we all know, is the best-selling book of all time. it is the central text of Christianity. despite its internal inconsistencies and sometimes immoral ideals, people in the modern times still regard the Bible as a very important book---and a source for untouched wisdom that is unparalleled.

therefore, i have this question---what are your views on the Bible? how do you see the "words of GOD"? is it really HIS words? did he whisper to the ears of these authors to know what they should write or omit? or is the Bible simply composed of words from ordinary people from the who-knows-when century?

its really hard to say that some of the message of the original authors are still intact.. after a period of oral tradition, and countless translations plus the editing done by the early church.. a lot could have happened..

its also noteworthy that the early church ommited parts that it thought was inappropirate..

so it is all the more sad and unfortunate that some people regard the Bible as infallible, when it could have been mixed with cultural contamination, and at worst, personal or religious agenda.

made by men...compiled by men...canonized by men...marketed by men...

something to ponder...Men are not perfect and susceptible to superstition.

hehe.. maybe the ones who truly believe in it are just being quiet..
but ur right there.. everyone believes on how they interpret it or their authoritative figure to interpret it.. its arrogant if they force their own interpretation on others.. its stupid if they just accept another's authority on interpretation.. it should be a balance between the two..

God is definitely the author of the Bible. perhaps your church didn't enlighten you the truth about the Bible that's why.
