Default Call Center Employees get criticized for talking in English anywhere they are at..

probably a good topic here to discuss about...

i just noticed and got curioused on why some people get irritated or intimidated with english speaking folks especially with Call Center employees.. i know most of us here have encountered these types of people and i myself wont be a martyr enough to deny the fact that i was once irritated as well. true enough, i got to realize things when i myself tried to get in to that kind of job as well and i felt sorry for criticizing them.

    what's your take on this?

kay masuya man sila nga di sila kahibaw.hahaha joke

btaw...ako sad wala kasabot ngano ing ana. naa bya jud uban taw mas mka express sa ilang kaugalingon in english. and if you're working in a call center, angay ra sad na magcge ka sturya in english because that will enhance your communication skills and will make you more confident and comfortable with the language. you use that at work so if it helps, by all means speak in english. kevs sa masuya. hahaha

pity its a culture here in the philippines to overdo things to the point of sounding even more rediculous
today's call center agents are told or coached to speak with an american accent
but the fact is, instead of going for better & proper way of delivering the language more efficiently in terms of proper usage of words, mag american accent na hinuon bisan gahi ghapon and effort kaayo paminawn and ang turn out is kataw-anan na kaayo hinuon ang samot ka klaro na hinuon pagka-bisdak hahaha

naa pud experience sa akong friend nga hapit siya maka katawa that job fair then naa on the spot interview. klaro kaayo scripted ang interview kay he managed to veer off sa inteviewto a conversation nga unprepared ang ga interview.. haskang pwerting stammer sa interviewer nga american accented daw sa start. wala na hinuon ka tingog.
    hahaha

and they dont know that a certain accent requires also some certain terminologies or "slangs" popularly used in a particular state or region.

its just a pity pud knowing the quality or qualifications required of/for a call center agents have come into these days.

mura na everyone is qualified lang basta kabalo ug "goodmorning maan, sir" or "hey dude waddup? les go hab sam kopi in estarbaks"

We can't blame the companies employing these BPO companies for wanting people to speak good englishas well. Their customers definitely feel more comfortable when the agent they speak to speaks with neutral American accent.

In my case, I can speak Bisaya but i'm not very good at it, so I only speak Bisaya when it's necesary [buying from sari sari stores, etc] and English in restaurants. I'm more comfortable speaking and writing in English. To think I've lived in Cebu my whole life. hehehe.

As for people getting criticized for speaking english anywhere, we have got to give them credit for the effort.

    Cheers!

ok raman nang mag-english in public..as long as sakto and not too slang..naa man gud uban na "with effort" gyod ba and then dagko kaau ug tingog, murag ang tanan tao iyang kastorya..that irritates me with these people..i've worked in a call center before and my gf is currently working in a call center..i know that for these people,it has become natural for them to use english due to the nature of their work..

pero please naman,if di naman lang gani mo kabalo ug proper english, better stick to our dialect..kay kana,maka-irit gyud..
