House leader stresses need for computers, Internet

SAN FABIAN, Pangasinan, April 17 (PNA) — House Speaker Jose de Venecia Jr. made a strong pitch for computers, Internet, and new technologies when he spoke Friday before graduates of the San Fabian National High School.

He called on the graduates that, if possible, before they go to college, they have to get themselves a computer each.

This is the only way, he said, that the Filipino students would be able to compete with other students of the world.

“I ask everyone of you (parents) that before you construct a house or do anything else, buy a computer for your children so that they can compete with students from various parts of the world in this 2lst century,� he said.
