not really refined, since win vista is just the half baked windows 7, it was just release because win7 had been taken soo long to develop....

I disagree with you on this one. I don't think Vista was a filler for Windows 7 at all (unless you have a link to a press article that proves otherwise), Vista was a major OS release. It just didn't come out quite right. It had a rough start, then the industry was mocking it (though some of them were uncalled for), and corporates wouldn't want anything to do with it... that Microsoft had no choice but to get their next release out of the door as quickly as possible and fix some of Vista's flaws to get people excited bout Windows again.

As blackdronza said, Windows 7 is 'Vista Refined' or 'Vista Fixed'.
