Default What to do before printing your photos???

I have a few questions here and i hope you can help or give your inputs...

1.When saving a photo to jpeg pila ang dapat value sa jpeg quality? Dapat jud maximum (12) para di ma wla ang quality sa image? Dako-an raman gud ko sa 12… wats the ideal?

2.After PP, do you keep the original photo? Or i-overwrite ninyo sa na PP na nga image?

3.What is the better way to organize your photos? By dates? Category (sports, flowers, night shots…etc)? any other suggestion?

4.When resizing the image... pila dapat resolution? 300 dpi? Mao jd na standard/max?

5.Last na jd ni… kung mag pa print ka ug picture, example 5r (5R = 5" x 7") ang size, do you resize your images to 5" x 7" or naka ratio nana daan ang mga pictures to 4r, 5r, whatever R… nya automatic nana mu fit sa photo paper size? hehehehe… it would help if you could give tips/step to do before printing photos?

    ty daan...

I will try some of you question basing sa akong experience. Not sure if your referring to printing it at home. But anyway here is goes.

    1. I learned it the hard-way. Dli gyud basta-basta mag print ug picture yourself. First attempt all my pics were different even though I spent quality time PP them. I suggest learn about color management para naa kay idea.
    2. Yes I do save the original kay I can do multiple effect version of the same pic (BW, Sepia, etc). I do delete images that I think are not needed to save drive space.
    3. I use Lightroom to organize my pics. I use to tags my pics so i can find them easily.
    5. Try reading your printer manual kung pila gyud dpi ang kaya handle sa imo printer. Most printer can handle 300dpi its standard I believe. Printing different sizes I let Lightroom handle that. OK man ang result sa akong tanaw.

ok i see what you mean. ngana gyud na bai. your images may not match the size you want it to print. lahi gyud na. i suggest cropping your images to the right size of paper before you sent it the photo lab.

    1. Dapat MAX quality You'll never know basin naay ganahan sa imong picture then mo-ask sila
    for blow up
    2. Yes, I still keep the original photo.
    3. The best way would be by dates then the event. I always create a folder
in this format: [yyyymmdd][space][name of event]
    para dali ra i-sort.
    4. if for printing, yes. 300dpi if pang post sa web pwede ra lesser hehe
    5. i think kinahanglan i-resize/crop xa to 5x7 gyud (giingnan ko ani last time adtong naay exhibit)
    then 300 dpi.

but the first thing you should do is calibrate your monitor for printing.
pero if naka macbook ka, i think murag dili na needed. i've heard na calibrated
    na daw na sila daan

    hope this helps

You may use those online tests if you trust your eyes that much. What I mean is can you trust your eyes that what your seeing is really the proper red or blue or green. As you do those online monitor calibration procedures. Take this exam first and see if you get perfect score -> Munsell Hue Test

Or you can just use a monitor calibration tool like the Spyder. It's available in local camera shops here in Cebu. At least you know Spyder results are universally acccepted
