ima share to yall my improvised fix on ma 360, but first i wud like to state some facts bout ma console... it has been plagued wit 3rl for like 6x already... i used the towel trick for the 1st and second one, but since edge told me doin the towel trick is dangerous for the other parts like the capacitors i never did it again, luckily, my elite has some kind of power? haha, for the 3rd, 4th, and fifth 3rl dat i had, i luckily got ma 360 to work, by just persistently turning it on and on and on and so on....
since im tired of always pickin up 3rl, i decided to try out the xclamp fix, which they say, can be a permanent fix...i've read like 3 different tutorials on how to do it and so i decided to do it...here it is...
here are the things i needed...as5, screws and some washers....and the tools of course...torx 8,10...screw driver and a long nose
here are all the torx 8 and 10 screws after ive disassembled my 360, as u can see, ders like long ones, small ones, and really small ones...
and here u can find the disassembled parts, like ma hd, its black cover, and its disk drive, metal casing, and the 2 heat sinks
here's d so-called culprit of the infamous 3rl....the xclamps, i thought dey were hard to get but it turned out quite easy...
and here's how my mobo luks like... as u can see, microsoft's thermal compound is still their...
after all the crazy dismantling and ripping of ma 360. it's time to do da fix na.... i was very frustrated wit dis coz i followed every step in da tutorial but still i keep on getting da 3rl...so i thought, i needed some improvisation on ma part...i analyzed wat was wrong wit wat i did and i noticed...ma washers are too big....
so instead of placing 4 washers each hole, i placed only 2....but still d 3rl is their!!!
i did da steps for like 5x agen and agen wit da same result...at dis tym, m very very frustrated and tired already so i did it ma way and experimented wid it....i took da washers off and only placed the screws...surprisingly, it worked, no more 3rl....so i think it was the washer's size which mattered coz maybe like it disrupts the board's connections...and so wen i was already ready to assemble it all agen...ive read in one of the tutorials dat it's a must to put a washer inbetween da board and da heatsink for da heatsink not to crush da cpu or gpu....
so i read the 3 tutorials agen..... and i thought ill juz use plastic washers, juz like one of the tutoral said coz im ired already of luking for da ryt flat metal washer...ive searched like everywer...ace hardware, handyman, gaisanu, different hardware shops...but still wit no luck...plus i wan to get ma xbox done already so i can practice nba live 10 ^_^....
so a stupid idea came to ma mind...n i hope ds idea works, well it did...i hope it will last though....i used mineral water gallon caps...cut them and shaped them to circle[hardly], and made a hole in between....
and it effin worked!!! oh yea!!!! hahahahaa
crazy improvisation.....maybe because i jus wanted to finish it and rest already hahahaha
now im keepin ma fingers crossed dat dz fix will be permanent...oh yea!!! hehhe
