Now that the city of Rio de Janeiro won the right to host the Summer Olympics in 2016, it's time to look at some of its tourist spots and features.

The world famous Copacabana Beach. This place will host the 2016 Olympic triathlon, marathon swimming and beach volleyball.

The Sambadrome. This is the usual place to watch the Rio Carnival.

The Brazillian Carnival is a fusion of cultures reflecting the dance and drums of Africa, the Portugese colonization and Brazil's own culture.

rio brazil is a nice place but i was really hoping that japan would win the bid to host 2016 olympics coz its much cheaper to go fly to japan and watch the games.

Rio de Janeiro might as well be as the world's "gateway" into Latin America. Their hosting of the Olympics serves as a breakthrough for the continent.
