Default MORTAL, The U.S Based Filipino Industrial Band

i dunno if u heard of this band. back in the 90's their songs were on various christian rock compilations. They were also one of the first Christian bands that played industrial music.

The band, led by two full blooded Filipino friends Jeff La Villa (Jyro Xhan) and Jerome Fontamillas with Ray Tongpo and Wilson Peralta is now considered as legendary in the Christian Rock Music Scene

After they broke up, Jeff and Jerome went to form Fold Zandura. Their album Ultraforever was actually released on cassette under Praise Inn...

Of course by now we all know Jerome as the keys/2nd guitar player of Switchfoot

It's good to know some legendary Filipinos in the U.S. (they are responsible for the sudden bloom of dance-rock/industrial music within the CCM scene)

Mortal was one of the few rap-rock bands in the mid-80s before mixing their sounds with industrial elements in the early 90s.

yah mas ok ang Fear Factory. Pero im just proud of Mortal since they are full blooded pinoy and they were not even popular in the philippines.... Ang Fold Zandura ky ila drummer dili man pinoy

ive heard of them before. naa gi compile ako friend sa una nga mga industrial/electro-rock mao naka dungog ko ato... their ok, specially promulgate and MujO but all in all nothing too ground breaking to be considered Legend, nothing too special. not even on a christian music standards IMO.. dont mean to bash, its just my tinker thought.

im with DEMONOCIETY on gODFLESH.... Rammstein og Celldweller pud ayos.

Ill reserve the word Legend to this bands..

    Killing Joke
    Ministry
    Throbbing Gristle
    KMFDM
    Skinny Puppy
    NIN
    God Lives Underwater

    oh yes, filter is back...hehehe

if you really want a legendary full-blooded Fil-Am band .. then try listening to Death Angel. Dino Cazares of Fear Factory and Phil Demmel of Machine Head are one of those who considers them an Influence.
