    Advantage lang ang wireless N nga router kung imong NIC adapter N pod.

    Wired adapter (N= 1000Mbps | G= 100Mbps)
    Wireless adapter (N= up to 300Mbps | G= up to 54Mbps)

    Pwede man gihapon magamit ang imong computer maski naka G adapter pa na pero ang speed nga makuha niya kung gamit ka ug N router kay 100Mbps kung naka wired since it is backward compatible na siya. So para ma take advantage nimu ang speed sa N router palit ka ug N nga adapter para ma achieve nimo ang speed nga 1000Mbps kung naka wired ka. So better file transfer sa imong network.

    Ang N ug G bro para ra man na sa wireless. Ngano ang wired naa may N = 1000Mbps ug G = 100Mbps, misleading mana.

    right on Tin_Tin

    802.11 A,B,G,N standard is for wireless only.
    802.3x standard is for wired (with numerous revisions).

    lesson people, don't believe everything you read here... do some research of your own.

    Misleading gyud labi na ug wala ka kahibaw.

    This is an example of an N router see image below.

    LAN (10/100/1000)
    4 Gigabit LAN Ports
    1 Gigabit WAN Port

    As you can see the router has 4 LAN port, those 4 LAN port are all Gigabit LAN Ports. So it means the speed of the 4 LAN ports is 1000Mbps kung connected ka via ethernet cable and ga gamit pod ka ug N adapter. See image below for the Gigabit adapter or N adapter.

    Gigabit Ethernet: 1000Mbps (Half-duplex)
    Gigabit Ethernet: 2000Mbps (Full-duplex)

    Now you know.

    Para mas masabtan ninyo naa pa laing screenshot, see image below.

    Notice the speed its only 100Mbps for the LAN. Definitely he is using a G NIC adapter.

    Now check the speed obviously its Gigabit speed right. Definitely he is using an N Nic adapter and N router.

    Sakto man si coolnez bay, wala may G nga NIC bay kay ang a, b, g and n are for wireless ethernet. Wala may a, b, g, n nga wired, AFAIK. Sayup man imong information.

    And it does not necessarily mean na if it is an N router that it has Gigabit LAN on its LAN ports. An N router just means that its wireless capabilities are capable of N Tx/Rx transmission. Take for example the Linksys WRT400N router, it has 802.11N for wireless but has Ethernet/Fast-Ethernet on its LAN ports and not Gigabit LAN.

    For the 802.11x:
    A = 54Mbps
    B = 10Mbps
    G = 54Mbps
    N = (100Mbps?? - 300Mbps??) IDK pila jud depends from router to router since draft pa man wala pa na final ang standard. Though I'm not quite sure if draft pa ba ni or na standard na as of now.

    IEEE 802.3x is for ethernet standards and its derivatives.
    IEEE 802.11x is for wireless ethernet standards and its derivatives.

    As what was previously stated by coolnezz. No offense bro but sayup man jud ka.
