cleaning exhaust pipes of diesel engine vehicles with water

my crosswind failed the emission test yesterday even though i already changed oil, oil and fuel filters. i went to a caltex station (across iglesia) and had my exhaust pipes sprayed or hosed with water. after that, i passed the emission testing. my question....

how safe is it to have my pipes hosed with water?

somebody from petron (across southern island) told me that they wont clean pipes anymore coz one of their customers made them pay for the overhauling of his engine.. the water unfortunately reached or went inside the engine after hosing..

did the same on our Pajero before. the guy from the Shell station in recla told me that its safe daw. Sold our Pajero already and i can still see it running around the metro. ok ra seguro kay ok paman to among pajero.

kung kusog kaayo ug presure sa imo water delicado jud na adot sa engine, if sakto lang HP ok ramn , im cleaning mine every 6 months so far no probs man

some gasoline station will not hose water to exhaust pipes coz naa daw checking ang denr how pollutant the water is from a gas station...ambot if true or aliby lang...its better you d.i.y, i dont think the water can go through? im doing this at home...makatang tang jud ug carbon deposits. but nag-andar ang makina

i think dili ra kaabot ang tubig sa makina kay naa pamay CATCON after muffler usa maabot sa makina nga mosala sa pressure sa tubig. isa pa, taas ang elevation sa makina so by gravity,dili jud cya kasaka diha2 dayon.

yup i rev it up bro...dili man tingai ma taya pud coz init kaau na ang pipe..mo evaporate ra..mas exposed pa ang surface sa gawas sa pipe..mutaya na unta na tungod sa uwan. just my opinion.
