Thumbs up Red-C for a healthier YOU!

Red C is genuinely alkaline sodium ascorbate powder, nano-sized for easy absorption. This type of Vitamin C stays in the body tissues longer than the acidic forms. The active ascorbate portion acts as an antioxidant, since it protects the body against stress, and is a cofactor in several vital enzymatic reactions.

    Vitamin C Non-Sour Facts:

    1. Vitamin C is required for the synthesis of collagen, an important structural component of blood vessels, tendons, ligaments, and bones.
    2. Vitamin C also plays an important role in the synthesis of the neurotransmitter, norepinephrine which are critical to brain function and are known to affect mood.
    3. Vitamin C is required for the synthesis of carnitine, a small molecule that is essential for the transport of fat to cellular organelles called mitochondria, for conversion to energy.
    4. Recent research also suggests that vitamin C controls the production of cholesterol which may have implications for blood cholesterol levels and the incidence of gallstones.
    5. Vitamin C is a highly effective antioxidant. Even in small amounts vitamin C can protect indispensable molecules in the body from damage by free radicals and reactive oxygen species that can be generated during normal metabolism as well as through exposure to toxins and pollutants (e.g. smoking).
    6. Vitamin C may also be able to regenerate other antioxidants such as vitamin E.
    7. Ascorbate has been shown to have a strong effect of preventing and shortening the duration of the common cold, cough or other infections.
    8. Ascorbate can detoxify the body of heavy metals, including the toxic metal mercury and lead.
    9. Recently, medical research at John Hopkins University discovered that Ascorbate supplements, in conjunction with vitamin E, significantly reduces the risk of Alzheimer’s disease.
    10. Vitamin C has the ability to reduce the risks of stroke and cataract.
    11. Vitamin C has a diuretic property at high dosage levels.
    12. Ascorbate during pregnancy results in a much healthier mom and baby.

Why do we need Sodium Ascorbate?

The GLO Gene is absent in many people, scientists believe that this happened around 60 million years ago. The absence of this gene makes us unable to biosynthesise a specific enzyme L- gulonolactone oxidase. This is an end stage liver enzyme that bio-converts blood glucose to Ascorbate, this means our bodies cannot produce any Ascorbate. In the long term, a lack of Ascorbate causes our bones to dissolve and teeth to fall out - in other words sub-clinical scurvy and a tendency to development of cancer.

    Sodium Ascorbate (Vitamin C)

Sodium Ascorbate powder is a non-acidic form of Vitamin C. Vitamin C has intrinsic antiviral and antibacterial activity though its main effect is improvement in host resistance. Sodium Ascorbate (Vitamin C Powder) may be beneficial in: General immunity boosting, helping to ward off or prevent colds & flus, assisting the healing of wounds, aiding the body in fighting infection, etc.

Unlike most animals that produce their own Vitamin C, the human body does not synthesize any. Whether for general immunity boosting or for the treatment of a specific condition, one requires more Vitamin C than our contemporary diet supplies. The amount of vitamin C you take daily determines its effectiveness. 60 mg per day is the RDA (Recommended Daily Allowance for adults). This is easily obtained from fresh fruits and vegetables. 500 mg to 5 gm (grams) per day has proven to be beneficial in the prevention of colds, and general immunity boosting. However, Vitamin C dosage of over 1 gm can realistically only be obtained through supplements.

Grab one now, in NANO state, easily absorbed by our body.
